After 10 years of printmaking, mostly in the medium of linocutting, I have moved into screenprinting to explore a more fluid, spontaneous approach to mark making. The works below are the result of this shift. My work is produced at Double Elephant Print Workshop in Exeter, where I also teach relief printmaking and letterpress.
Shape, colour and balance informs the majority of my abstract work. I am especially interested in manipulating layers of spontaneous mark making into coherent images through the application of flat colour through the medium of screenprinting. The aim is to achieve an image that rewards repeated viewings though the balance and tension of the interaction between form and colour. Sometimes I succeed, but only sometimes.
